My screaming deals blog...

So I can use my blog as a scrap book as well, I have made a new blog that will be linked to the right. It will have all of my deals, coupons and resell advice for all those deal hunters out there. Enjoy!

Crossfit for a week...

It's been a week. I have NEVER been this sore in my life. Ever!
It is REALLY hard but I am really hoping to have some great results. I have spent about half the time I usually do on working out, but feel like I am getting more.
Tomorrow we run a 400m do 50 squats and repeat it 4 times. Wowza!
This has been really good for me. I have worked out with my kids for the last 4 years. Pushing a jogger that now weighs 100 lbs with them in it. It was NOT easy. It's been really therapeutic to get away and focus. I think that was part of my problem as well. I could never really focus and was stopping so much to break up fights, give snacks, beg them to stay in their seat till we got home, pull hair from fists, bribe and threaten...
This is JUST for me and I never get that. I love it, even though Sam hates it when I ditch them to go.
This is crossfit http://www.crossfitredmond.com/
It may look easy enough, the same thing. You could be TOTALLY wrong!

Love-hate relationship!

I have many actually...

carbs
money
children(OK, totally kidding most days)
food
life
being an adult
sugar...(are you seeing a trend?)
exercise
my minivan
Oh I could go on...

I have always exercised. Fluffy or thin, in sickness and health. The only time I did not really was when I was pregnant. I was too scared, sick and sooo tired.

I have exercised on a daily basis for years, but nothing was coming from my runs, mad dashes up 90 degree angle hills, and intense toddler chasing. Cara and I joined Crossfit. My sister and cousin were already doing it and loved it. I thought no problem, I am in rockin' shape for a chubby girl...BRING IT ON!

Dude, IT SUCKS!!!!! But I love it. I have NEVER in my life had to work so hard. I almost threw up the second day, and almost passed out last night. I pushed my self so hard. I laid on the floor in the middle of one of my sets and almost started to cry...not kidding. I couldn't walk down the stairs with Henry this morning. He got really impatient and looked at me like I was a nut case. Literally could NOT make one foot go in front of the other. So this is a new journey for me. I will track my progress and see how it goes.

Cara has KICKED my butt every time. She is way faster. My goal is to beat her. I don't care when and how, but I will. Looks like the Erdman's are challenging me all around.

Don't think I have forgotten about our 50 lb bet, Jeff.

Some quiet time while on drugs...

I may have to delete this post later...LOL
I took some oxycodone cause I am about to pull a Tom Hanks and rip my own tooth out. (Stay with me...Cast Away)
History on the tooth. I broke almost 2 years ago. It killed. We didn't have dental insurance and it was going to cost $$$$$$$$$. I had a temp cap put on in hopes of holding off for insurance. Cap falls out. Now I have a huge hole up to the bone. YEAH, REALLY HURTS. If anything gets in there it gets infected and I will spare you the NASTY details. I've been dealing with the pain for almost a year and a half. Sometimes I can't take it. I get to have the tooth removed and veneer put in on the 31st. WAHHHOOOO! One positive thing from the losing of the company and getting a job is benefits. We have never had them and holy smokes it rocks.
So anyway...Sam is off playing ball and going to a movie...Life's rough, huh? He came home from young mens with some home made cookies. Not really my thing unless they are sitting there.
I'm working on eBay drinking my diet coke and I get kinda hungry.
I'll just try one. Ok these aren't half bad. Then I start to think...Who made these? Things like this sketch me out. You don't know if there kitchen is clean, if they washed their hands. Feel good on my drugs. Finally kicking in, I should be able to make a huge dent in eBay now.
Whoooooo feeling good, cranking it out...look down.
HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!! Who ate all the cookies?
Oh for the love, I couldn't have. Could I? OH MY GOSH this is why you should NOT do recreational drugs. You have NO idea how many cookies you ate that you don't really like.
Good thing I am starting Crossfit on Thursday so Dan can whip my butt and hopefully a few of those cookies right off.

Eastman's go Island for the day...

We had a crazy idea of hitting the San Juans on Saturday. I got online and checked out all the schedules and when was what and how much. I hate the unknown. I am not a fly my the seat of my pants kind of girl. So we leave at 9:00 giving us plenty of time to catch the 11:05 ferry.

Before I go farther I have to remind some of you that my husband is like a kid in a candy store or me in the coach store with these kind of adventures.

I was all prepared with my healthy snacks, diapers wipes, sippy cups...you name it. We get to Anacortes at about 10:45. Took us longer then it usually does. We can NOT find anywhere to park since we had decided to walk on. It's like almost 70.00 for us to drive on. Finally we find this hidden spot at the restaurant right there by the ferry. I run in to pay. We are heading to the ferry walking REALLY fast. It's 11:00 at this point. My dad would have a heart attack cutting it this close. I realize I am holding the pass to put on the dash for parking as we are half way to the ferry. Sam RUNS back and puts in the car and runs back. I am still walking fast...this ferry is going no where. They are still loading cars. Sam grabs the stroller from me and RUNS. I was half laughing and half totally annoyed. He could not help himself. We get there in PLENTY of time and make our way on to a CROWDED ferry.

We get all settled in and get the snacks out...

Sophie and Henry were in HEAVEN on the ferry. Sophie was a little scared at first asking all kinds of questions about if it would sink. She was OK with it after we reminded her that she can swim now.

I grabbed a ferry schedule while everyone was snacking and started to realize something was off. According to the schedule we would be in Friday Harbour for 50 minutes and have to turn around and come back. The ferry I thought we would take was not the right one. OK, not a problem. The kids won't last very long anyway.

One problem...When the ferry is late getting to dock and you are taking THE SAME FERRY HOME...you have to RUN through Friday harbour.

We ran and got some lunch to go. It costs a small fortune so good thing I packed those snacks. Looked, oohed and awed and got right back on the ferry.

That's OK, it was the kids favorite part.

I don't do well without my sunglasses on, can you tell?

Sophie said she was the Island princess like Barbie....Heaven help me!

This picture is Henry in a nutshell. Just wanted a quick picture and this is what we get.

We had promised Sophie we could get treats on the Ferry. It was like she had won the lottery when she went to the cafeteria to pick them out.

Henry just wanted a little lovin' from Sissy and she was not havin' it.

Back to the car and sooooo tired.

Some things I learned today...

1. Imax movies are pretty boring.
They lie...It is nothing like this.

2. You must have food for a 2 year old to sit through an Imax.
3. I would DIE without Cara. I can't leave the house without her.
4. Bite of Seattle is NOT what it use to be.
5. You can randomly win some cool prizes as you hurry to your car leaving the science center and it happens to be the first day of BITE OF SEATTLE and you had no idea and that's why parking was 20.00 and there was no where to park. (I love a good run on sentence.)
6. 4 yr old girls can PMS....BIG TIME!!!
7. Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT try and take your kids to the Nordstrom Anniversary sale.
If Nordstrom ever makes this a policy, it may be cause of my kids.

8. Friends with out kids who spend time with you and your kids in public are angels.
9. When you promise to put the kids to bed so you can go running with a friend and then the kids got out of bed and played the drama card as far as throwing up and gagging, you had better come home with ice cream or you are totally gonna hear it.
10. When you work out at 8 o'clock at night make sure you don't have a stomach ache, you haven't cut your foot which is now an open wound which is now getting sweat in it which is now felling infected which I'm sure now has turned into gangrene and will fall off tonight, and with throbbing ears. Poor Cara had to listen to me the whole time.
11. DO NOT DRINK TOO MUCH DIET COKE. It's not good.
12. Everyone needs a Cara. Did I mention I would die without her.
13. Everyone needs a Sam. What a guy to deal with the gagging and the barfing so his chubby wife could exercise.
14. Everyone needs to watch out for gangrene when they have a cut.
'nite!

Dude, Where's my hair???

Some of you are going to be really mad. But I had to do it. Henry's hair was more work than Sophie's. That is wrong!! He looks so old and handsome now. He loved it when he looked in the mirror. We took off almost 4 inches. We can even do a cool mohawk now.

Photo catch up!!!

I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my camera. Everything had this haze on it. I was going crazy and then I noticed a little finger print on the lens....Its a good thing he's cute.

He is becoming very particular with his clothes and wants to pick them out. This is hard for me to allow.

The Erdmans come over for a BBQ and swimming at my parents.

Swimming at Gaga's and Papa's...

Sophie can now swim anywhere in the pool with no help and keep her face in, jump in and goes down the slide. Henry is jumping in and all over by himself with his pack on. This is big stuff in our house.

Mom, I am not tired...not tired....not tired....gone.

Missing 4th of July...

Yeah, I'm still waiting on pictures. I havent forgotten. :)

For the love of everything...

My kid sounds like a truck driver. My dad caught her calling her cousin Gracie a jack a$$!

This is me...
What in the....who taught her that? Oh crap, was it me? No, I know it wasn't me? Did I let it slip in the car? Nope, pretty sure we are clear on that one. Ill ring her neck. OK she doesn't know better. Deep breath......Deep breath.

I call her in to a room.

She has no recollection of the event or why she said it.

Then comes the speech...you know the one. We don't talk like that, you need to be a nice young lady. Just don't listen to your aunts when they talk. LOL

Fast forward a few days. Megan, Sophie and I are in the pool.
Sophie~I want boobies.

Me~whooodaaa whaata?

Sophie~Can I have them?

Me~ No, Never.

Sophie~ When I'm like 14? Cause I'm 4 now.

Me~HAVING A PANIC ATTACK!

This is how I roll!

Well technically in this...

But I'm talking coupons and shopping. We all know I have a ridiculous love of overly priced couture. Mainly the kids and my bags. I hate to buy myself anything till I get back down to the size I want.

So many people have asked me how I do it. How do I dress my kids the way I do and so on.

So this is how the kids and I were rolling today..

In above stated car.

We hit Fred Meyer~ Not usually my favorite store, but they have some steals.
Deodorant-2.50-FM coupon of 2.00=.50- my manuf coupon .75= they paid me .25
Kids soap~2.59-FM coupon 1.00=1.59- Manuf coupon of 2.00=they paid me .41
Shampoo and Conditioner(hard one for me to switch to store brand.) 6.50-FM coupon 2.00=4.50- 3.00 Manuf coupon = cost me 1.50
are you with me? I have now spent .84 on all of the above...
I added 3 boxes of cereal, 6 pack of soap, some tortillas for dinner and my grand total was 6.83!

I am addicted.

Then we headed to the mall. I had a coupon for a free Auntie Anne's Pretzel. FREE!

Headed to Janie and Jack to do a group order for a bunch of people. I got $52.36 back in price adjustments. So this is how I do it.
If I walked into Janie and Jack this dress would cost me $52.68!

Not so much. I wait till it goes on sale like it is now for $18.99. My friend in Oregon buys it for me with a 20% off coupon and no tax. We are at $15.19 with tax. It cost $2.87 to ship that dress to me. I will flip the dress after we wear it and sell it for $25-30. I like to try and get close to 30-50% more then I paid.

So you see, this is how I do it. Sophie wears things 1 or 2 times so I can maximize my money back out of it. Henry's I really only buy at dirt cheap, but really good brands. He ruins a lot and we can only sell about 75% of his clothes.

I do this with EVERYTHING from bedding, purses, baby gear, strollers, and so on.

There you have it my friends.

JUST GO TO BED ALREADY!!!

8:18~
Henry~ crying at the top of the stairs.
Me~Go get back in your bed.

8:19
Henry~ down stairs.
Me~Go now and I mean it.

8:20~
Sophie~Mom, Henry wants to watch a movie.
Me~NOOOO, go to bed.

8:21~
Henry~downstairs again. Screaming, "lay down with me."
Me~ No, We already did that. Go back to bed.

8:23~
He's back up stairs.

This will repeat for about an hour. I want a button I can push that will have a recording threatening them in my mean voice. Then if they walk past the bedroom threshold it will go off. I'm inventing it. Or maybe a zap like the dog invisible fences. I'm only kidding(sorta), don't call CPS.

A conversation with Soph...

Started a few months ago....

Sophie~Mom, when is my sister coming?

Me~You don't have a sister.

Sophie~The baby one that's coming in your tummy.

Me~Uhhhh, watch you talking about Willis?

Sophie~My sister who is going to come to my house after this year.

Me~Starting to panic and rummage through cupboards for stray pregnancy test.

Me~Call Cara...uhh you wanna stop at the store before you meet me at McDonald's?

Cara~ Arrives at the play space and promptly tells me to go in the bathroom and pee on it.

Me~ All engines a go, we are clear. Pheeeewww!

This same scenario is repeated probably 3 times. You know the whole kids have a sense about these things.

Today in church Sophie is sitting on my lap.

Mom~When did you say that sister is coming?

Me~We are going to be down one sister in this family if you don't knock it off. I can't afford to have you keep having false revelation for me. Those sticks you pee on are expensive you know.
I am so OK with 2 kids and Sophie is not letting it go.

This just made me laugh...oh if this was life~

Who wants to tell her she will not look like that when she is done. Those abs and KZ's will never be the same.
