Oh What a Month...

Late December back in '08...OK, you know you all sang it in your head. OK really though, it's been nuts around here. To start off we found out we are adding to the family.

Yeah, totally freaked out about this one. Not sure I can hack it. So I have spent the last 2 months dead on the couch. Its been the worst pregnancy yet as far as feeling like I would like to die. I sleep all the time and my poor kids must hate me.

I have turned a corner and have started feeling human again in the last week or 2.

The kids were really fun at Christmas this year. Henry was a riot about Santa and the whole process. Henry just wanted a horse and Sophie wanted a jewelry box with a ballerina that played music.

Dad was fixing things that were dropped and broken before lunch time.

We were hit with RIDICULOUS amounts of snow and I almost lost my mind. I hate snow!! The kids and Sam LOVED it. They sled every day and Sam even was snow boarding at home in it.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday!!

He is going to hate these one day!

Sophie dressed Henry up as Hanna Montana and princess the other night. We were dying laughing at his expressions and dances.

eBay gone so wrong!

I was taking pictures of eBay stuff today. My kids know the drill. My mom is taking pictures, don't stand in the picture, just best to not be around. I have all the items stacked on the table. One of the items was a doll in a box. It was a 90210 Brandon Doll my dad had given me in High School. He was way off in the age appropriate gift but I did love 90210 and that is all he knew. Dear love him.

So anyway, I get a little tired from some meds I have been taking and proceed to crash out on the couch while the kids are playing. Sophie wakes me up to tell me...
"We have a serious problem here mom. Henry is holding a head."
"A what?" half asleep.
"uhhh the head from your doll."

The kid had punched out the box and ripped off the head of Brandon Walsh. The Brandon Walsh of area code 90210. He was even complete with beachwear for crying out loud. I guess we'll never know what he could have made us on eBay but Sophie and Henry have had fun with him riding around on a horse like the headless horseman from Icabod Crane.

Should I be worried?

She is a GENIUS!!

A friend of mine sent Sophie a surprise in the mail. I thought I would have to do most of it. She sat down and finished this puzzle in no time. What can we say, pure GENIUS!!!

The joys of being a mother!

We have been talking to Henry about getting ready to go on the potty. He is totally afraid of the toilet. This should be fun. So Sophie in her high pitched mom voice (which is odd since I have a pretty low voice) says to Henry....
"It's ok bubby boo. You just go poop and then pee on the potty."

I can tell she is thinking.

"Mom, why is pop then pee?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well when I always go poop, sometimes long time somtimes not a long time, then I know I am really really done cause the pee comes out."

I am stunned....uhhhhh, wellllllll, uhhhhh.

How do you answer that one? I have no IDEA!

"You know that is a good question. Ask Grandma next time we are there."

Sophie and her cousin Katie. Sophie thinks she is pretty cool!

You Can't See Me!!!

Henry was being talked to about something he had just done wrong. I was sitting right in front of him telling him why we don't hit. All of a sudden he closed his eyes so tight. Trying no to laugh I asked if he was listening to me. He replied....

Very softly, "Herry is not here."

How do you NOT laugh?

What a couple weeks! I have let the blog go big time. It started with me RIPPING, yup I said ripped a butt muscle in crossfit. Hurts like....So then we thought why not drive to Utah 13 hours when I am not suppose to be sitting on my butt. So we did. We got to see Adam who just got home from his mission in Mexico and attend the Eastman Halloween party! I left my camera in Utah so these are borrowed pics for now. Then when we got home, I was in pain, Henry was sick, I had a really bad root canal and so on..... Phhhheewwwww. Here are some pics to catch you up to speed.

It's cookie making time!

Im not sure what is wrong with my camera. I apologize for the awful pictures. We had FHE which consisted of Wii and hot and cold for the activity and then making cookies for refreshments. This is how they turned out. Henry was a little sweaty from Wii.

Tampons!

So the other day my back was hurting and the kids love to fix my back. I lay down and the rub, hit, sit on...you get the picture. I must have been tired because during the torture I drifted off. I could feel Henry messing with my shirt and some sort of toy. He usually plays cars on my back and it is really relaxing. Sophie decides she is going to play with my hair which only puts me farther into a drift. I wake up and can not figure out what they were playing with.
The back of my shirt was full of Tampons that had been unwrapped and "ejected". The cardboard applicators were now wrapped up in my hair as "curlers".

I had 2 thoughts...
1. HEY, these are expensive.
2. You guys were way off, but pretty creative.

Sophie goes to the Dentist!

She had her first cleaning and x-rays on Tuesday. She wasn't nervous at all. I did have to lay down with her and she rubbed my hands pretty hard at some points. Hey, even adults hate the dentist. She had her eye on the prize. She got to pick something out at Target if there was no fussing or crying. She was focused.

And then exhausted...

Evidence of the crime!

I posted last week about my kids destroying my moms brand new pots of mums. I though I would post pictures of the evidence! It's a good thing they are cute!

I survived my first Primary activity!

Phewwwww! I am in charge of Primary activities at church since my new calling is the second counselor. Today I pulled off my first activity. We had a drive-in movie. The kids were told to start earning loose change around the house or from neighbors. Then they were told to make the most creative car they could out of a box.

The kids got there this morning and the first thing they did was pay their tithing to the Bishop!

Then they made emergency packs to go in their cars which then went home for there backpacks for school.

Then they got to visit the concession stand with the money they earned. Kathy Bruner had so much fun running the register.

Then they got settled in their cars for the movie. They were SO cute!

Dallin was not going to leave with any money left.

After the show was out...

Sophie's only requirement was that her car be purple!

You know what happens at 1 AM?

When you are on drugs from Oral Surgery and now you can't sleep? You go through the house and list all kinds of stuff on eBay. Ha ha!
I listed a ton of stuff at 1 AM. I love eBay. One thing already sold and earlier I sold a laptop that is broken for 280.00 in less than 2 minutes. My favorite to list is old cell phones, Shoes, Box tops from cereal boxes, really anything you can take a picture of. You'd be amazed.
Go through your house and start making a pile. I love it!

If you need anything, here ya go!

Life's Lessons!

About a week ago Megan, my mom and I all went to Costco. My mom bought 2 of these huge pots of mums. She got them all planted and looking nice on her back deck. Not 2 days later we were all over for Sunday family dinner. Henry comes in with mums in his hands. We go outside to see my parents deck covered in mums. Immediately I turn to Sophie and ask who had done this. Of course her response is, "Henry did it."
Henry gets a big lecture from Grandma along with big No No's.
I look in Sophie's hair and notice mums. hmmmmm, wonder how those got there. She finally confesses to her role in the planned crime.
I give the motherly lecture on how Grandma just used her money to buy these and now look.
We get out the brooms and start cleaning it up. I am talking to Sophie about how she is saving for the new barbie movie and what if Grandma just broke it once she bought it.
Sophie replies, "I would be reary mad."
I decide Sophie needs to give Grandma the money that she has saved for the Barbie movie to help replace Grandmas flowers.
"Fine, but I don't know how to drive, and I'm not going."
As I'm trying not to laugh, "that's fine, you don't have to go."
Sophie gave Grandma the money she had in her Minnie Mouse wallet last night. Today Sophie said, "I bet Grandma's gonna buy the Barbie movie with all that money."

This kid has never done this before. Right as we were sitting down for dinner.

I'm really happy...

This is weird but today the kids and I have stayed home sick. I am on pain meds for this tooth and the kids have bad colds. I was playing with the kids, baking cookies, and getting stuff done today. I sat back and thought I am really happy. There are many things that are making it so I shouldn't be like a failed business, huge budget makeover, and wanting to move. Then there is the bad tooth, bad ovaries, and many other pains. But I realized, I really enjoy my kids right now. Sophie is going through a hard stage but Henry has been my little man and is so good. Sam and I are very happy, I am feeling less overwhelmed than usual, I feel organized and prepared more then ever. I really don't know what it is. I watched Henry change and take care of this baby...
(he's going to kill me for these one day...)

This is what it's all about. Watching them become people and enjoying it. It's not always easy to enjoy it but I am grateful I can right now.

Oh sap over. I'm not sure what came over me.

First Day of School!!

After Sophie was sure she had broken her leg, she was able to hop on into the car and venture on to PRE-K. Seriosuly, where has the time gone?

(note the shoe not on)....Heaven help me!

The Fair!!!

FAIR TIME!!!

We did our yearly visit to the Evergreen State Fair. It happens once a year and we like to do it right. You know the family's that get really into it. It started with the kiddy rides.

Henry not sure at first and then decided he loved it. Sophie is all about the rides, she loves them all. Until...she went on the adult roller coaster. Tears! But she recovered quickly and went on the kids roller coaster and the merry go round.

Check out what I won. yup, me. The coolest mom...EVER! We had to push it around in the stroller cause it was so big and heavy. Amanda modeled it for us! It is really fast and really fun. I was soooooo tempted to throw it on eBay since they were going for 140.00, but Henry was in LOVE with it.

Henry just couldn't party any longer and fell asleep on Uncle Andrew.

We won many stuffed animal, went on rides, ate way to much crap and were ready to go when Sophie said she didn't get to ride any horses. As I told her there were no horses to ride, sure enough there was pony rides. I got suckered in. The kids were in HEAVEN. Henry was so serious and cute.
