Being a mother is the most fulfilling, peaceful, rewarding, and other things.....In my life!
Isn't that what they say?
Hold up, for real? OK, don't get me wrong I do love being a mother but let's be real for a minute. It's OK to say it is not all those things. It's OK to say it's hard and it sucks.
Lets go through a day at the Eastman house...
12:01 am Mom is still awake. I've tried to lay in bed, take a hot shower, take some sleeping meds. Somehow the heartburn, restless legs, throbbing pelvis, and aching back is just not letting it happen.
12:20 Mom sneaks in to kids room to do a little cleaning up, it's too late to do laundry or dishes, it will wake everyone up.
12:30 Mom tries to go back to bed.
12:55 Mom is back up and is now on the computer...Must go to bed before I buy my kids clothes. There is nothing else to do on the computer at 1 in the morning.
1:30 Mom climbs in bed and quietly turns on pretty in pink. Some time before the prom Mom falls asleep.
3:00ish Child number 1 ends up in our bed. Mom rolls over so child number 1 stops killing huge belly.
4:30ish Child number 2 ends up in bed. Mom shuffles kids who in 10 minutes will be right back up against mom.
5:45 ish Mom wakes up because her HUGE large white belly is hanging out and everyone has taken the covers.
5:50 Mom goes and gets blanket off one of kids beds and covers up.
7:30 Child number 2 wakes mom up saying he needs to watch BOLT and he needs to NOW.
7:30 Mom and child go downstairs where she pours child a bowl of cereal, turns on BOLT and falls right to sleep on cold sofa.
9:00 Mom is awake due to loud screaming over a My Little Pony. For real? Come on.
9:15 Mom drifts back off to sleep where said children decide they want to paint. Mom wakes up to black paint all over her carpet and cabinets.
10:00 Mom convinces kids to snuggle with her while they watch a movie so she can sleep a tad more. Child #2 proceeds to wipe boogers on Mom while she is asleep cause he doesn't have a tissue.
10:05 Mom gives up and is up.
10:10 Time for baths. As Mom gets #2 out of the tub he proceeds to pee on a stack of freshly folded laundry. Boys, how sweet and adorable are they?
Now I could continue but I will spare you with the boring details. But the rest of the day consisted of a visit to the Dr. resulting in one child having pneumonia, which then spread to the other child a day later.
While I do love and think my kids are of course the cutest, it's OK to be real. I am trying to have humor in all the stuff our life has had to offer lately, but sometimes you just want to run away.
We have made it through....
3 ER visits
6 Dr visits
3 out of 4 with pneumonia
a really hard pregnancy
8 birthdays
getting a garage sale ready
trying to move
trying to be pregnant
trying to fulfill my calling
a broken toe
a punctured nose due to a pen accident
a cut toe filled with rocks and bark
a strange rash breakout
8 prescription from the pharmacy
did I mention I can barely walk up the stairs with out passing out?
Sam working 58 hours a week....
In the last 2 months. I am a tough chick now. I can take it.

oh, man, lady this day sucked. i hear you on the 'bliss' part. i feel more often than not we are praying just to get through the day with our kids still thinking we love them than anything else.
restless leg is the WORST part of pregnancy. i worry about it being routine all the time. that would be terrible.
where are you moving too?
ah, the joys of motherhood...someone needs to write a book that tells the REAL STORY! LOL....hope you are all feeling better! (and i am w/you on no sleep--i have given up lately)
