ER, glow sticks, ER, Throw up, CAT scans, EKG's....

Deep breath. I feel it all coming to an end.
Let me tell you a little story of the house a la Eastman.
It all began one Friday night at 12:10 am. A young Sophie stood at our door way and puked everywhere. I mean everywhere. We jump and start helping her. No less then minutes later she is at it again. This goes on for 3 hours and we lost track at 22 times. Poor Sophie was so dehydrated she started to act strange. This was our first adventure to the ER. The Dr's got her to stop throwing up and got her hydrated. We came home at 5:00 a.m. at which point poor Sam had to get ready for work.
Saturday morning was calm and uneventful with lots of sleeping. Saturday afternoon Sophie gets sick with the "other" stomach yucks. Not fun again.
Saturday evening Henry thinks it is a good idea to eat a glow stick and suck out that glow juice. You know they ones you use to get at the skating rink.
So I am now on the phone with poison control and Sam is cleaning out his glowing mouth in the dark bathroom.
The poison control warned of sore mouth and a glowing poop diaper. The highlight of our weekend.
Sunday rolls around and we get hit again. Sam and Henry start throwing up. I mean what does every pregnant person want, 3 sick people to clean up after.
Sunday night everyone is full blown sick out of both directions. I feel like Ashley Judd in YA YA SISTERHOOD. It was that bad.
Sunday night about midnight....I begin the joy of the plague. There is nothing worse then being the mom and taking care of everyone, being pregnant and throwing up like a mad woman.
Lexi made numerous runs for Gatorade, crackers, TP and so on...
By Monday most of the throwing up has stopped.
I start to feel like I am getting strep throat. My throat kills. My Monday night my throat and chest hurt so bad I can't breath. I pass out on the couch.
Sam takes me in for round 2 at the ER. I honestly thought they were just going to swab my throat for strep.
All I remember is them running around and hooking me up to machines. I start to panic and cry when they order EKG's and CAT scans. WHAT IS GOING ON?
They thought I had a blood clot. Turns out I had all the symptoms.
They find out my heart is racing and they need to know why. Then my blood pressure is 80/40. So 3 bags of IV fluid later, lots of test...I had thrown up all my potassium and my heart was suffering. They got my stats back to normal, drugged me and I finally got to go home at 4 AM.
For the next 3 days we had random throwing up by the kids and fainting by yours truly.
By Friday we are human again and actually leave the house for the first time in a week. We think we are good to go...
BUT, we could be wrong.
We venture to skate king for Megan's 30th Bday. It hasn't changed in 30 years and is pretty gross. Henry clears about 4 pops when no one is looking and pukes all over. Now, you couldn't even tell or smell that's how bad skate king is. This was our last throw up and its been 4 days. We all wake up the next day with bad head colds. WHO CARES. Bring on the head cold any day!

I told Sam, a family that throws up, passes out, poops, and takes many trips to the ER together...stays together.
WHAT A WEEK.

Lexi is here! YAY!!

We are so excited. Lexi got here today to live with us. The kids can hardly wait for Aunt Lexi. They have been bouncing off the walls.
Just when I thought my kids were a lost cause, Henry pulls the sweetest move.
The kids were worried cause there were no pillows on her bed. I told them we were getting some and not to worry. When we came in the door Henry ran upstairs and pulled his pillows off his bed and handed them to Lexi.
Melt my heart. He remembered all day and wanted to give his beloved pillows to her.

It kind of makes up for the night before. Sam and I were watching 24 and the kids were not quit ready for bed. We told them since we wanted to watch a "mommy and daddy" show they could go up and get in our bed with a movie. We hear HYSTERICAL laughter and wonder what is going on. I send Sam up to see what is going on. The kids thought it was hysterical to spray each other in the face with febreeze! I mean laughing like I have never heard. After washing and making them drink a bunch of water, I asked why they would do that.
Simply..."it was just so funny, mom."

Wild Animals!

After an evening with my 2 WILD ANIMALS, I have done some thinking? Why? Why are my kids, those kids? They were so out of control in a restaurant tonight. We met Emily and Andrew to pick up Sophie and get some dinner. It was like a 3 ring circus. Every time I try to talk to them about it they have some witty come back. It's all you can do to keep it together. I swear every time I am not taking them in public again, but we all know that doesn't work. I am an out and about kind of girl.

On the way home they yelled Bob the Builder and Barbie back and forth as loud and as long as they can. OH MY WORD...It's enough to make you want to jump out of the car at full speed.

So you think we get home and things calm down...you would be wrong. It's now turned into a full blown Kung Fu Panda fight. Complete with body slams off the couch.

"If someone cries, I am not going to feel bad for you..."
"That's it, go to bed...."
"When Dad gets home you are busted..."

Guess what they still are wild. It's not like they are naughty or mean, JUST WILD!!!

EVERY TIME I take them to someone else house to play they tell me how well behaved my kids are and what a joy it was to have them. I almost look like I was hit by lightning, I am sure.

They must of forgot which kids are mine!

I am dumbfounded. MINE??

So is it an evil conspiracy, let's break mom and dad?

What is it?? Someone tell me before I lose my mind. I am starting to think people will think I am crazy when I don't believe them my children are so well behaved.

They are wild animals I tell you!

Oh What a Month...

Late December back in '08...OK, you know you all sang it in your head. OK really though, it's been nuts around here. To start off we found out we are adding to the family.

Yeah, totally freaked out about this one. Not sure I can hack it. So I have spent the last 2 months dead on the couch. Its been the worst pregnancy yet as far as feeling like I would like to die. I sleep all the time and my poor kids must hate me.

I have turned a corner and have started feeling human again in the last week or 2.

The kids were really fun at Christmas this year. Henry was a riot about Santa and the whole process. Henry just wanted a horse and Sophie wanted a jewelry box with a ballerina that played music.

Dad was fixing things that were dropped and broken before lunch time.

We were hit with RIDICULOUS amounts of snow and I almost lost my mind. I hate snow!! The kids and Sam LOVED it. They sled every day and Sam even was snow boarding at home in it.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday!!
